Light, easy on the pallet. Paired with Antelope and mushroom, delicious! — 7 years ago
Definitely not as ripe as the vintage would suggest, tons of mushroom and forest floor. A wine at ease with itself. Just what my antelope rack needed. — 8 years ago
Very good. Paired well with the antelope !! 2/17 — 9 years ago
Opened and brought to a Charity dinner. So many wines open, so this was hardly touched. Brought home and enjoyed over nine (yes 9) days. Made as a Rosé, this wine has some weight to it. Wonderful first effort from the Hermann York team, who are making excellent wines from SoCal old vine vineyards in Antelope Valley, Rancho Cucamonga and others. This one is from a 120 year old own-rooted vineyard on the Pechanga Reservation near Temecula, planted 60 years prior to the current commercial vineyards in the area. Mission, Grenache and probably some hybrids, as the vineyard had been abandoned for about 60 years. This had plenty of CO2 to keep it alive, with a nice Champagne pop even on day 8. A good group of guys making fun and interesting wines! — 3 years ago
Another entrant in the burgeoning So Cal winemaking scene. Met Dusty Herrmann and the York brothers when they were picking Mission and Grenache in the Bob Munoa vineyard last fall. This one is from the high desert of Antelope Valley, and is an interesting and fun field blend of Alicante Bouchet, Chardonnay, Muscat, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Viognier and Zin. Dark Rosé color, beautifully expressive nose, and light on its feet at 13.15%. Only had a small taste, but enjoyed it enough to order two bottles, along with their Mission, Alicante Bouschet Rosé and Amber Muscat. Certainly an interesting new project! — 5 years ago
Pairs well with reds. Drinking tonight with Antelope steaks in Terlingua. Fantastic. Beautiful and full bodied. — 6 years ago
Love it! Had it at Rainbow Lodge in Houston! Great with my Antelope loin. — 7 years ago
Great structure, nice dark fruits, some wet cloth earth notes. Oak spice. Really pleasant. Nice with antelope steaks. — 9 years ago
I enjoy the bottle age on this, but increasingly find the acidity too high. $41.80. — 2 years ago
Very soft scent - lemon, citrus, grass. Lingering lasting flavour! Antelope, citrus, mandarin. Coats the mouth. AU$110 — 4 years ago
What a great Temp! It really reminded me a strong West Texas Tempranillo. It paired well with Antelope blackstrap. — 7 years ago
Last bottle of the case...sadness! Agree, best with Lou Malnati’s pizza as we had the very first bottle. Will see how it goes with paleo antelope Shepard’s pie. Also great for sipping. — 8 years ago
Such a delicious wine. I could honestly just sit and smell this wine. Very smooth. — 9 years ago
