Cuvée Bernardo Vallana Spanna Nebbiolo

Excellent cooler-climate styled Nebbiolo. Great acidity, texture and length. Nice herbal / black tea undertones with cherry fruit on top. Yum. — 15 days ago

Boca Nebbiolo Blend 2015

Very close to my idea of a desert island wine. At 13% it has more smooth edges but that lovely thread of acidity common to its more expensive & jagged Vallana cousins. Dark red fruits, violets, tree bark. Juicy too, the tannins are pretty integrated. Skurnik importer. — 5 years ago

Spanna Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo 2019

Little funk on the nose. Sour cherry, some minerals and a bit of smoke. Little lighter than I expected, some healthy tannin on the back end. Really fine wine for $20 or so. Nice to see Vallana’s around again. — 6 months ago

Wonderful wine still vibrant like an old Bordeaux but an ahhso would have been helpful — 4 years ago

Vallana Campi Raudi Nebbiolo Blend

What a wine and what a bargain. This is a Nebbiolo based blend from the far north of Piedmonte. Big, ripe, a bit tannic but very drinkable. And a 2009 library release just out for $22?! Will be back to get in volume. — 5 years ago
