This Champagne is composed of juice from all old vine Grand Cru grapes on property that used to belong to Krug right in the Cotes de Blanc… so you know they’re working with great land and great fruit. The nose is earthy, almost a little sandy toned, but there’s also good fresh fruit here with scents of citrus peel and Golden Delicious apples. The mouthfeel is soft and supple with a great apple/pear balance that becomes more intense in fruitiness and even borders on tropical flavors before coming to a gradual vanilla finish. — 5 years ago

I cannot take the credit, that’s the tasting notes from K&L winesInteresting 100% #sauvignongris #bordeauxblanc. Mix of grassy notes and tropical fruit on the nose; slightly oily texture on the tongue with an effervescent-like zing at the same time. A teensy bit of green apple and loads of white/yellow citrus up-front and grapefruit pith bitterness linger on a long finish. This one paired nicely with pan-seared barramundi with a lemon and dill pollen marinade. ***Update: After a week in the fridge it’s actually even better as the zing has gone away and the bitterness has mellowed out. Lovely wine, would be even better with a bit more age. Paired it with some Barramundi and worked a treat. Good balance between the young fruity Riesling flavours and a hint of the petrol-esque notes of the older rieslings. — 2 years ago

Clear, pale lemon in colour. Very strong petroleum bouquet. Dry, high acidity with medium length. Complex flavours of fruits such as peaches, pineapple. Very nice with barramundi. — 8 years ago
Upon opening it offered up a big scoop of butterscotch on the front palate. Midway through the bottle the seashell minerality really broke through and the fruit transitioned to pear skins and lemon pith. This really flowed perfectly with our dinner of grilled barramundi with mango/pineapple salsa and sweet corn, followed by caprese salad. #thanksobama — 10 years ago

Yeah it’s just so damn layered and delicious, big punch of acidity but that extroverted fruit and I assume decent dosage to round things out - makes it a pairing ace. It is so enjoyable even as it completely loses all bubbles and comes to room temp in the glass, which is the mark of a great 🍾 IMHO.
