Greg tasted at Kaitei 6109 Maple in Benson.
He loves it, says it beats all so far! This is the only peated whiskey I have liked so far. — 4 years ago
An electric violet zing plus hoofprints in a storm, the balm to a long day of zooms at home in the era of coronapocalypse. — 5 years ago
1 of CA's oldest wineries, Far Niente, founded 1885 by John Benson. Winery flourished until Prohibition, when it was abandoned & fell into complete disrepair. Stately stone shell of a winery purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel. A big wine! Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate apple, peach and citrus flavors, creamy, with buttery toasty oak, fig/honey tones. Long finish ending with vibrant acidity & mineral character. Consistent. — 2 months ago
Near amber color, slightly sweet. Strawberry, peach and mild pineapple finish. — 5 years ago
This lovely glass of wine has transported me. With some Manchego, olives and bread at the Wine Bar at the San Francisco ferry depot. — 6 months ago

2022. This is now designated as Bricarelli Ranch vineyard. We were grilling kebabs and vegetables and pulled two California Nero d’Avola rosés. This wine had deep red berry and ripe strawberry flavors. We all loved it but preferred it alone as the crisper Donkey & Goat paired even better with dinner. — 14 days ago
