This was the winner of Friday night wine club by a mile; 5 1st place votes. I was fortunate to win with this and never had drank it before. The fruit on the tongue made the difference. This wine won for us because of the advice and help from Jeffrey Bell, sommelier and owner of Eleven Eleven wine shop in the Benson community of Omaha. Here is my point of recognizing Jeffery; if you are in a similar wine competition; seek out a recommendation from a professional like Jeffery. — 5 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
1 of CA's oldest wineries, Far Niente, founded 1885 by John Benson. Winery flourished until Prohibition, when it was abandoned & fell into complete disrepair. Stately stone shell of a winery purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel. A big wine! Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate apple, peach and citrus flavors, creamy, with buttery toasty oak, fig/honey tones. Long finish ending with vibrant acidity & mineral character. Consistent. — 7 days ago
