Wiebelsberg Riesling 2021

This is the grand cru. Petrol, stone, round full mouthfeel and loads of flavor. Next time I’ll drink this on a quiet evening so I can concentrate on it. Excellent — 5 months ago

Grand Cru Zotzenberg Gewürztraminer 2017

Last bottle of this. Still drinking beautifully. Nose has lychee, pear syrup, wet river stones, and lilies. In the mouth it’s round and broad, and also slightly sweet, but it’s all in balance due to nice minerality and a little bitter note. Love the balance on this. — 3 years ago

Midelberg Gewürztraminer 2016

Not something I would usually go far, but I really loved this. It is lightly sweet with notes of rose, strawberry, persimmon, and crushed grass. Really tasty with a roast chicken dinner. — 6 years ago

Reserve Alsace Pinot Blanc 2015

Subtle butteriness and great mouth feel. Hints of honeysuckle and pear with notes of lemon zest and wet stone in the nose. Great spring and summer patio wine.

Alsace Pinot Gris 2009

2009. Stinky anise-saffron-honey botrytis surrounded by white stone fruit, flowers, & definite RS. Quite pleasant, I wish I had more to hang on to. — 11 years ago

Brandluft Riesling 2021

A crisp and zesty dry Riesling that perfect for casual summer sipping. Fresh nose has cracked stones, a slight herbal thing, and bruised green apple fruit. In the mouth it’s lively and zingy, bone dry, and quite refreshing. Thanks to my brother Angelo for this one.

UPDATE: On night 2, the fruit seems more vibrant and deeper. Upping from 8.8 to 8.9.

Blanc de Blancs Crémant d'Alsace Brut Chardonnay

Lovely #alsace #cremant - brighter lemon nose, some lees, minerality. The dosage is beautifully balanced. This is a great French sparkler and alternative to value champagnes — 4 years ago

Zotzenberg Riesling 2018

This is your #riesling if you’re not a fan of the petrol / diesel notes, once this has had a chance to breathe a bit. While I don’t mind those, this is a nice alternative terroir expression - subtle floral and peach notes on nose. @Kurt Schuster is spot on with the crystalline descriptor. The palate is more about the luscious fruit texture backed by sturdy acidity and a touch of RS rather than a lot of complexity. Where else can you get #grandcru #alsaceriesling other than #costco for ~$18? — 3 years ago

Clos Eugénie Alsace Riesling 2009

A honeyed wine. Just gorgeous. Melts on your tongue. Very little aftertaste- almost absent a finish but with the depth to stand up to raw salmon. — 11 years ago
