Jantarova barva. 23 let stare. Plna zralost. Ve vuni rozinky, med, exot ovoce, ale velmi decentne. V chuti krasna kulatost, zralost, exoticke tony, medove podtony, nicmene svezi, kyselinka uzasna, trva. Malo perli, ale uzasne. Za me: nadchlo!
Degorge 2010. Ca 6-7g.

Tasting notes
The Carte d’Or cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. With its very high proportion of Pinot Noir, one is almost tasting a Blanc de Noirs. Champagne with a ne aromatic richness, it opens with aromas of stoned fruits such as white vineyard peach. A spicy hint announces a powerful and complex palate. A vinous Champagne of lovely complexity with a characteristic note of quince jelly. — 8 years ago
Nariz: mermelada de ciruela y cerezas, cuero nuevo, regaliz.
Boca: Taninos M+, Acidez M/M+, Alcohol Alto (16%). Seco pero untuoso, redondo, buen balance.

Classic CA Cab, but from a leaner year, so more streamlined w good acidity and a touch of herb. — 10 years ago
Dicht bij de zee. Grootste gevaar de zeewind. Daarom hangen de druiven laag. Wilde dieren. Maar verder weinig gevaren. Na ca 3-5yr op de markt. Neus: gedroogd steenfruit, perzik, honing, gestoofde groene appels, heel geparfumeerd. Opent zich langzaam in het glas. Zit veel in verborgen. Parfum van gele bloesem, maar ook rose wilde rozen. in de smaak meer citrus, limoen, citroen. Aan het eind veel mineraliteit, zout, hartig door lees ageing? M+ body, 12% alcohol, droog. Ter plekke geproefd. Proeverij met dochter ‘president’ — a year ago
New Year’s Eve 2021 wine purchased from Esters Wine Bar in Santa Monica, CA as part of their countdown to 2021 pack. — 5 years ago
Raw meat, slight rubber, blackberry jam, pencil shavings, slight barnyard (N) Black fig, ripe cherries, raspberry, black licorice, cocoa powder, allspice. (P). BOMBA! Med silky tannins, m+ acid, long finish. Like a cross btw Burgundy and CA Pinot! — 10 years ago
An old world French wine that is more like the new world CA wine. Smooth medium bodied red that evokes cherry in nose and taste. A gentle fruit forward wine that is equally at home sipping or paired with food. Pretty damn good and the price is right. — 10 years ago
Very CA like. Ripe, fresh and more new oak than the others. Juicy blackberries, dark raspberries, black plum, blueberries, softer dark minerality, leather. — 10 years ago
Superb orange. Rochelle bought in Long Beach — 2 years ago
This wine needs time. Leave it alone. Compared to the Liaison not that closed. Classic E&M. Takes ca. 1h to open up. Out of wack. Needs a year or so. Black Forest herbs. Cranberries sour blackberries. High acid. Limes. Light. Needs to settle down. Very edgy right now. Hard to read. — 7 years ago
Soo finally got to try this 97 pt Robert Parker Alexander valley cab. Put it in a flight to get perspective. Well, it's a damn good value. Super rich and it matched up pretty well with the TOR napa ca which is 2-3 times the price. The Alexander valley tastes like a Napa cab. The '13 Louis martini napa is tight and needs air. Can't wait to try the '14. People should skip the Louis sonoma and just find the Alexander for a good price. Huge disparity in quality. I rate the Alexander valley 92-93 pts. — 9 years ago

The mid red fruits are candied on the nose with fresh violets and roses. It's glorious, ruby, candied & creamed raspberries, dark & light cherries, strawberries, just a hint of blackberries, plum, fresh perfumed violets & pink/red roses, milk & dark chocolate, cinnamon stick, vanilla, slight herbaceous quality and mid intensity volcanic minerals. She is a lush elegant beauty. Finishes fruit juicy transitioning to dry mid tannins. M+ to H acidity. I coravined a glass not sure if it would be ready but it is and will still improve over the next 5+ years. Interesting...this CA Rhone has a little Burgundian DNA. — 10 years ago
What a difference a year makes. The 2013 incarnation of Melville's Block M is still an excellent wine, but pales in comparison to the 2012. Still has all of the same basic characteristics you expect from Melville - great strawberry, a bit more acidity than what you find for most CA pinots yet perfectly in balance - but the 2013 lacks the depth of the 2012. Probably due in part to the extra year in bottle for the 2012, but only in part: the 2012 is a superior wine. Still, this is a terrific offering from Melville that will likely improve with an additional year or two in bottle. — 10 years ago
