This '81 was amazing, and showed many facets through the evening.
The Préfert was really wonderful, the first time drinking Isabel's wines, delicious.

I fondly remember this wine. Had a couple of bottles in my dad’s cellar in the late 80’s. Some field mice got in and gnawed the top of the capsules off only two bottles in the cellar: both of the ‘81 Beaucastels! They knew. (They left the corks intact and the bottles were stellar.)

This wine blend is medium red with ruby highlights. The aromas hints are of rose and cherry. A cranberry-ish tinged finish is finely enhanced with smooth tannins. Excellent pairing with Beef short rib stew. — 3 years ago
