"Il Specialino" Vino Aperitivo Americano Rosso

Not as bitter as Campari, not as sweet as Aperol. It makes an excellent spritz. — 2 years ago

Contadino Terre Siciliane Rosso Red Blend 2015

Vibrant mouthfeel with dark cherry, blood orange and a hint of Campari. Big winner against the two later vintages. — 5 years ago

North Coast Trousseau 2017

Beautiful light brick color. Light mouth feel with a bitter edge like Campari or vermouth. Grown east of burgundy on the border of Switzerland (where comte cheese is from!). Trousseau means dowry 😍 Caroline says every trousseau she’s had is interesting so it’s always worth trying. Some may be barnyard’y the night you open them but they really open up the next day. — 5 years ago

Loved this in a Negroni instead of Campari. Richer, less bitter. Delish!! — 2 years ago

Château d'Armailhac

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2013

Drank beautifully. Red currant and a little Campari (although that could be from earlier in the night) with good mineral support. — 4 years ago

Rouge-Gorge Coteaux Du Loir Pineau d'Aunis

Even better on day 2! Let this breathe! Forest floor/tertiary notes, pine, cedar, cocoa, plum, sweet berries, I like the Campari note that someone noted... that sort of medicinal quality!
On the palate, stemmy, upfront tannins, smooths out into an etheral expression of tart forest berries, plums, some oak, coffee bean, cocoa nib, pine/rosemary, quite savoury.
This almost reminds me of something out of Italy!
Overall, a beautiful Loire red with lots to offer. Love the savoury characteristics! Cheers!

Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2014

I have decided that the whole pairing of drinks with food is really over rated. Really getting into pairing drinks with other drinks. This combo does not suck (for the record the negroni needs extra Campari to make it really kick). — 5 years ago

Just incredible. The most delicious blend of all things bitter orange: neroli, pith, juice. I would pay beaucoup bucks for a bottle from the 70’s like this one — 5 years ago
