@Tom Casagrande One of the group members has a very deep, old, and obscure Italian biased cellar. I think he told us the winery hasn't been in production for a few decades 🤔
This was the group's top bottle of the evening, all served blind.

This '81 was amazing, and showed many facets through the evening.

I fondly remember this wine. Had a couple of bottles in my dad’s cellar in the late 80’s. Some field mice got in and gnawed the top of the capsules off only two bottles in the cellar: both of the ‘81 Beaucastels! They knew. (They left the corks intact and the bottles were stellar.)
