Opened about 30min before service; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2010 currently pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, developing with dark cherry, blackberry, plum, raspberry compote, pencil lead, licorice, mint, forest floor, tobacco, green bell pepper, cocoa and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin, medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and slightly bitter. The nose is the star with such a complex perfume; I could spend the entire night with my nose in the glass. A lovely Fourth Growth. Drink now through 2040+. — 2 months ago

Vintage 2009 | This is a Pomerol with a certain strictness. We tasted it blind next to a left bank wine but the tasters did not recognize this as a right bank wine. It seems to be made for the long haul, with clear tannines even after 15 years. Good integrated wood with a light vanilla impression. — 17 days ago

Rich buttery aroma with dried plum, roasted red pepper, burnt wood. the mouthfeel is full, rich, broad, completely satisfying. Smooth and round, soft tannins. Beautiful. — 2 months ago

Hot tub-! Meaning, Macon in the hot tub. Which also means that any wine tasted in hot tub conditions deserves better, & at least some recognition the hot tub distorts. Still, a lithe, Meyer lemon & mineral palate. Helps actually to be in, yes, the hot tub to loosen up the dimensionality. Would go back to this. — 2 months ago

Very different St Joseph. Tons of brambly dark fruit. Nice acid and tension on the finish. But oddly lacking in tannin and structure. Savory and I appreciate the 13% abv but I think it’s missing a dimension given the price point. — 5 months ago
