Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 Hommage à “Marguerite” is a blend of three 1er cru vineyards in Saint-Aubin: Les Perrieres, Les Combes, Les Creots. The wine pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of green apple, lemon, starfruit, mixed white and yellow flowers, marzipan and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and there’s a lovely, creamy texture that accompanies the racy acidity. Purchased 2014 on-site at vineyard 2018 during Bordeaux-Dordogne holiday. Opened 10/22/2021. Pours very black. Hot alcohol, light tannin. Pine cone resin. Leather and wood. Cedar? Blackberry.
