Wild Merlot. Has the familiar murky stemmy brick colored pulpy whole cluster profile but with some interesting goings ons underneath.
Sparked cedar, smoked jam, fruity tobacco. Lots of VA with lots of crunch. Texture is clean and a little bit slippery - acid fold nicely right into the fruit.
Was hoping for greater cohesiveness and some more interesting notes but worth a try. — 4 years ago
Smooth, very light, and subtle tastes of pear and apple! My home wouldn’t come up in the app but the cemetery is close by! — 5 years ago

Staldet. Frisk. Citron. Den Gamay som Julien Merle Champs Blanc drømmer om at være. Jerome Balmet. (19 euro). — 6 years ago
Close to pop and pour. Not juicy, but lots of red fruit — strawberry, raspberry, cherry (the pits). Also plum. Some leather. Minerals and clay. A little violet. Dried rose petals. Still has some grip — plum-skin-like. Acidity balances it all very nicely. Really good. 92. — 6 months ago
From mag. Gold in color. An enchanting soft nose with Merle lemon, orchard fruit, a delicate stoniness. Really beautiful and poised. Still fresh but the secondary and retreat notes are spectacular. Balanced, refined and long. Just getting better and better in the glass. — a year ago
Very Droin in style, crisp and tight, fresh and mineral, with just enough density to make it a very good 1st growth, drinks like a charm.
Très beau premier cru de Droin, frais et mineral, serré et vif, avec juste assez de densité et texture pour en faire une bouteille qui se siffle en un rien de temps. 90-91
