Le Claux Delorme Valençay VDQS Sauvignon Blanc 2021

To my palate the opposite of new world- as referenced in a previous note-& drinks more like a Pouilly Fume; quite rich, minerally & taut. Some layers too, with white flowers & honey, still quite full on palate w a slightly petrol nose. Insane Qpr at 14$. — 6 months ago

Famille Ogereau

Brut de Schistes Crémant de Loire White Blend 2016

Nose is bright cherry, lavender, strawberry, raspberry, and rose. Smooth cherry and ripe strawberry predominate the palate along with cinnamon, tart peach, and ripe apricot. Light tannin, medium alcohol, and high acid that lingers long into the finish. — 3 years ago

Carignan 1903 Carignan des Schistes 2016

Such a different carignan. Nothing like the heavy tannic wines of old. Great acidity, dried fruits and fresh herbs. Stunning. — 4 years ago

Le Claux Gigondas Red Rhone Blend 2019

Delectable Wine
9.6

Dark magenta. Vibrant cherry, black raspberry and candied flowers, plus a hint of blood orange and exotic spices, are highlighted on the incisive and finely detailed nose. Juicy and lithe on the palate, offering intense, mineral-accented red fruit, lavender, vanilla and baking spice flavors that stain the palate while showing no excess far. Closes extremely long and alluringly sweet, with a repeating floral note, polished tannins and a late touch of star anise. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023) — 2 years ago
