Very dry… like English humour. But it finishes off with a nice earthy and nutty finish. If you like tannins and puckering your lips this is fantastic. — 3 years ago
Muted dark fruits on the nose and palate. White pepper with a touch of cigar box on the finish. Balanced and firm. — 3 years ago
Truly an amazing value for the quality. Lingering, complex finish. Bright red fruit and a cinnamon/cardamom undertone. — a month ago
this is my style! distinctively old world style in a new world setting. jammy, earthy, peppery but also very blended. reminds me of a southern italian wine from calabria. — 3 months ago
The 2019 was absolutely delicious. Not too jammy but lip smacking all the same. Glad we have another bottle! — 3 years ago
always a stunning bottle of white Rioja from Baron de Ley. So much fun for a great price… — a month ago
Still showing a lot of tannic and acidic structure, but enough fruit to keep it in check once it had a few hours of air, youthful still, and brawny. — 2 months ago
N: Salty dried butterscotch/caramel, Seashore, old boats, rot in the best of ways.
P: Sweet but no… upon entry, the impression is of something unctuous and sweet, for a bit of a second, then DRY. Yellow and gold flowers/melon,
heady at 16°. Great w baby artichokes and Parm and pan seared Branzino.
Varnish lacquer,
Really fine weirdo stuff. I’ve never splurged for the Quattro Palmas…but….

Full bodied but not overwhelming. Lots of berry textures and the leather/nutty finish is very smooth. I could enjoy this over a broad array of meat and pasta dishes. — 21 days ago
