See previous note in June 2023 where I questioned the ripeness of the fruit. This has the trademark spice and pepper. Very little fruit, more savoury characters. From one of Australia’s leading cool climate wineries. As Jancis said, “a real sense of place “ - in this case the Macedon Ranges just north of Tullamarine Airport. Very different to SA Shiraz. Just medium bodied - a leathery note with balanced tannins. As in previous note a touch of astringency at the finish. — 6 months ago

Spectacular! Luscious! Full-bodied! Dark chocolate on the nose. Dark cherries, currants, blackberries, mocha, mint, a bit of vanilla, blueberries, and oak. Warm, lingering finish. Decanted for about two-and-a-half hours. — a month ago
At our second special Caymus dinner on Sky Princess serving this wine. I’ve had lots of Caymus wines over the years. This is in line with the brand, but not what I remember from the wines from the late 70’s. As the price increased, I lost interest. It’s ok, but I feel there are better wines at the price point for the Cabernet Sauvignon. — 6 months ago
Really a wonderful old Riesling. Last had 2 years ago and I think this is our last bottle. The color in the glass is amazing. The palate matches - so deep and rich but still with balance. Was probably overall better 2 years ago as more of the acid was still there but this is still excellent. — 10 months ago
Complexity. Oak with a finish of a little bit of spiciness and slight tartness. — 5 months ago
Refreshing, citrusy and minerals. Lemony nose. A nice, not too serious wine to enjoy. — 8 months ago
