Pulsion Noire Alsace Pinot Noir 2003

Pulsion Noire Alsace 2003.
A magnificent Pinot noir. After 16 years still so complex, nutty and hints of liquorice, very elegant after taste. Just delicious. The corck didn't do well after so many years though. My next move is to visit the wineyard at Mont Are Odile

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Nice Rosso from a top wineyard on Montalcino. Medium to full body. It’s not your most food friendly Rossos but it’s delicious on its own. — 6 years ago

Cascina Piccaluga

Abellonio Langhe Arneis 2020

The first bottle of my new Barbera d’Alba from my Argantino wineyard #2 Opened it with my son Davide and my parents. Paired it with wild boar salame, carne cruda, insalata russa, agnolotti al ragù. Masterpiece from Abellonio — a year ago

Gilvesy

Varadi Furmint 2019

The Furminth grapes used for this crisp and elegant Hungarian wine comes from the Varadi wineyard on a (inactive) volcano hillside and are fermented with natural yeast in local oak barrels; greenish notes in light yellow color; crisp citrus and lime on the nose along with peaches and red grape fruit; high acids and low alcohol (12%) yield a summer-like fresh crispness with a hint of anise, potpourri, and herbs. Other than an apparent lack of depth and complexity, this was an overall positive experience. — 3 years ago

Halo Spring Ephemeral Columbia Gorge Red Blend 2018

This is my second label to try from Hiyu and I’m enjoying this one as much as the Corvus I had not too long ago. Whereas the Corvus was gripping and earth-shattering, this Pinot Noir/Pinot Gris blend is more feminine and effervescent but no less expressive. Lovely tannins and acidity, this wine exhibits notes of funky strawberries, cherries, rhubarb, and clove. A nice, fun wine to drink. — 5 years ago

Petite Provence

Limited Edition Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2015

open houses saturday at a local village close by to suburbia.
seeing the wineyard name i thought it was a rose. should've choose ipa craft beer next to the hummus & ful dish.
but we shall deal with life's surprising challenges.

typical bourdoux blend of Cabernet sauvignon and merlot.
it was served from the fridge on this hot day.

cold it was dry red fruit with firm tannins. a bit woody.
warming up elegance and tartness came for a visit.

not too bad.
but for different circumstances.
