Domaine François Lumpp

Clos Jus Givry 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2022

Quite good and a big surprise, this was about as good a red as I have had from Givry/Chalonnais. Talented next generation at the helm! — a month ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1989

Competently made wine, but Leoville Barton is always my least favorite of the Leovilles. Just not very exciting or dynamic. Served with braised short-ribs in a savoy cabbage, with potato Napoleon, confit carrots, and a bitter chocolate jus. The chocolate actually helped the Leoville Barton significantly more than when it was on its own. — 9 months ago

Coup de Foudre

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016

Gevrey-Chambertin style Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. Strong masculine but elegant fruit to start with notes of smoke. Not fruity like many California Pinots but intense. Amazing value at under $40. — 3 months ago

Julien Pineau

Coup d'Jus Vin de France Côt

I love everything that Julian Pineau does. This wine mostly of pineau d anise I believe is no exception. Less peppery more acid driven and mineral driven then others. I wish I had a case as is the case with all his wines. — 3 years ago

37.2 Cuvée Napa Valley Merlot Blend 2017

A delicious Merlot based Napa blend.

Showing black and red fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee and mocha.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and easy drinking with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.

Still young and would be better in 5 to 10 years.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

14.6% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$80.
