Deep garnet color. Aromas of bright/ripe/sweet red fruit, rose petals, charcoal and light oak. Ripe red cherry and plum fruit on the palate with hints of sweet spices. This is banger of a Rosso di Montalcino! Huge nose on opening with dark fruit - primarily dark fruit and wet moss. Palate is bold and surprisingly full bodied with lots of layers - primarily fruit forward with dark cherry, moss, soft spices leaning towards cinnamon - overall more juicy acidity until late when a long smooth tannic finish emerges and lingers pleasurably.
