Dry and interesting. Cotes de Thau region. Mari described it well that it’s weirdly hot on the palate. — 2 months ago

Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild-Vega Sicilia

Macán Rioja Tempranillo 2019

This tasty 5 year old Tempranillo from Vega Sicilia & Rothschild, is still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Showing red and black fruits with earth, wood, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, graphite and dark coffee.

Complex and interesting. Rich and fruit forward. A modern take on Rioja.

Better than their Classico version, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

100% Tempranillo grapes from 40 year old vines.

14% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Les Caillets Condrieu Viognier 2022

I drank the 2022 by the glass with monkfish on black rice and fennel. It was very good. Stone fruit, peach, tiny bit of spice on long finish. — 8 months ago

Silex Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Light golden in color.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing limes, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, light earth, minerals and black pepper.

Spicy finish with bitter almonds.

This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc From the Loire Valley in France. Rich and elegant. Much more buttery than I expected it to be.

Still young and needs at least 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. I had the 2014 not too long ago, and it was even better.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Good by itself or with food.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$200.
