Domaine de la Vougeraie

Les Petits Noizons Pommard Pinot Noir 2011

Started off a bit weekish with sour cherries, high acidity and a hollow fruit profile but this turned sweet after 90 min with great balance, modest fruits, perfumed nose and tertiary notes. A treat. — 16 days ago

Joshua Cooper

Ray-Monde Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

My first Joshua Cooper wine - had to check out the Young Winemaker of the year for 2020 awarded by Gourmet Wine Traveller magazine. Joshua has recently turned 32. This wine was quite rich and dense and a little closed aromatically - obviously quite young. Ripe plum, rose petals, with a little vegetal matter. - a big future ahead. Joshua has had wide experience with Australian wineries and in Burgundy with Domaine de la Vougeraie and Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron. This wine from the cool climate Macedon Ranges with high profile neighbours like Bindi and Curly Flat. — 5 years ago

Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

The rare (only?) white from clos vougeot. Really delicious. I’d say more a crowd pleaser with stone fruit and a bit rounder and fattier vs hyper delineated. I loved it. — 3 months ago

As with the same vintage and vineyard as the Taupenot-Merme enjoyed alongside this, it seems to have everything but finesse. — 4 years ago

Terres de Famille Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018

Amazing wine for the price. The nose has rich buttery notes, but also a steely reductive character that could be confused with chablis. The palate delivers all the nose promises - caramel, fresh bread, and lemon, with slate and a salty twist. Surprisingly long. Punching massively above its weight. Strong buy! — 4 years ago
