Domaine Desvignes

Louis Claude Desvignes

Montpelain Morgon Gamay

@Delectable This is the Montpelain bottling. Serious and structured. Needs air. Raspberry coulis and crushed rocks. Gains weight with air. Aged in concrete egg. More time needed. — 3 months ago

Aux Pierres Javernières Morgon Gamay 2020

See previous entry.
Still pretty spot on review.
This bottle may have been opened a bit colder, straight out of the keeper.
Still great red/black fruits and chewy.
Granite in your mouth. A very tactile wine. Announces it’s presence without taking over. Refreshing & bright.
Great stuff.

@Daniel Bloom I had read somewhere that this cuvée was rather intended for aging, anyway, Desvignes do incredible things

@Romain Fitoussi Yes they do, I’ve seen this bottle available now maybe 2 places,
$42…I’m considering. Wanna come over?

Javernières Morgon Gamay 2018

Red deep fruit colour. Very nice nose of cherry and spices, pepper. In the mouth it is both crunchy and of a beautiful intensity, which will express all the better as the bottle will have been aerated for at least a good hour. An elegant bourguignon beaujolais, with a gastronomic profile that is still a little young. Clearly tailored for long guard. — 2 years ago

@Romain Fitoussi Love Desvignes! Generally they don’t last around here to full age*.
