Vieilles Vignes Vaillons Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

Crisp, slightly fruity wine with smooth finish. Paired it with Risotto and it was amazing. — 20 days ago

Les Champgains Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2020

2024/9/2-3. There’s some young austerity, but with air the aromas really open, with salted lemon, stone, smoky minerals, flowers and judicious oak. In the palate it’s still quite tight, with ample acid and and austere structure - enjoyable but a bit gangly compared to what it will be at peak. Still, I understand Amiot has lengthened maturation times to near two years, and to me, those echoes of old school producers are very welcome — 3 months ago

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes Chardonnay 2022

Classic 1er Cru Chablis. Tastes spectacular. Freshness. Brightness. Vibrant. Vanishing softness turns into a long acidic finish. — a month ago

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay

Christian Moreau in 2020 has as an excellent stable led by Les Clos, with the Valmur close behind, and the Vaudésir picking up good points for favorite nose this morning. Today the Cuvée Guy Moreau was a delicious step up from the regular Vaillon. The 2017 Vaillon was ready and delicious. The 2018 Valmur stood out for its sheer intensity. Rating is for Les Clos. — 3 years ago

Les Vergers Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Not bad, but I’d take the 17’ Leflaive Bourgogne any day over this. I liked how complex the nose was, and that it was textural and quite mineral, but I just couldn’t stand how sweet-fruited and oily the profile was. Very clearly a warm vintage Burg. Then again, Amiot does make more generous Chardonnay’s. Not for me, but I’d recommend this over any butter ball to lovers of “smash-mouth” wines. — 9 months ago
