Picked up a split of this because all my .375 empties got accidentally thrown out (I use them to store unfinished bottles in the fridge). So I was mostly after the bottle itself but what’s inside happens to be superb—lime, apple and floral notes with fine but not hard edged limestone mineral character, softened perhaps by the clay component of the terroir. 100% Loire Valley Pinot Noir. Dark (almost opaque) red color. Earthy nose of mushroom and forest floor with hints of black berry/cherry fruit and violets. The palate is full of ripe red and black berry fruit with touches of mushroom, cola, nutmeg and minerals. Long finish with medium body and bright acidity. Pretty bold and funky. — 10 months ago
