Wowie holding up great. Thought it was raisiny to start with but it then went in reverse and tightened up with an hour. Really lovely dried herbs, red fruits, sandalwood and a little nag champa. Stellar and super fun to try a 22 year old Pinot. It could be nothing other than California and honestly SLH in particular which is a good thing because Burgundy belongs in burgundy and the Pisoni’s belong in SLH. Bravo — 3 years ago
Decanted one hour. Delicious! If I tasted thing blind I would say it could be nothing other than beautifully aged bordeaux, which is crazy considering it’s entirely Sangiovese. This is a real beauty. It is fully mature but will continue to age gracefully for at least a few more years. Bravo! — 3 years ago
WOTN - I was impressed - besides always being a crowd pleaser this wine always acts like the postman and always delivers
1 hour decant - was not planning to open but we drank the other bottles like thirsty sailors after 90 days on the boat - color has not changed - the smell has gotten even better - the finish was spot on and the taste was impeccable- remarkable- memorable- a true stunner - blue fruits dancing with black and reds fruits - tobacco cassis sweetness from caramel- tamed but striking how this baby keeps growing - drink now if you want but I will not try again for 5 years or more - this Napa cult classic will last 10 years plus and seems to find a way to get better - bravo — 6 years ago
