One hour decant(little cloudy sediment). A stellar inky ruby red color. On the nose: creme brulee, blackberry, forest floor, dark cherry, leather. Taste: dark cherry, pepper, tea, charcoal with a beautiful chocolate graphite long finish. A elegant, rich mouthfeel and full body wine that is aging nicely.
Vinified in Sacramento!! With grapes from Napa To Kalon...small production at a great price if you can find it. — 6 years ago

97 degrees in the Sacramento valley (hey, they say it's a dry heat, but damn it's still hot)!!....time for some pool, pizza, and Zin! Pop and pour. A mystical dark ruby red. On the nose: cherry, vanilla, spice. Taste: dark cherry, blackberry, pepper, some currents and chocolate on the end. — 7 years ago

Chris Lequin at Echo and Rig Sacramento. It’s a more complex Pinot. Priced a bit higher than the taste. — 7 years ago
Pure deliciousness..... highly recommend this vineyards visit if ever in Sacramento... even though this vintage wasn’t part of the tasting it was bought due to its unique name and we weren’t disappointed....... nice full body with a very nice finish. — 8 years ago
Nose of; ripe blueberries, dry dark cherries, spiced black raspberries, dry cranberries, black cherry licorice, raspberries, faint sweet spice, violets, dark florals and semi-sweet, moist, turned black earth. On the palate, this is fresh, lean to medium bodied, very light tannin structure (almost none), ripe, juicy and extremely easy to drink young. The flavors are; bright, ripe, fresh, juicy fruits of; boysenberries, blueberries, plum, black, blackberries, dark cherries, raspberries, there's some poached strawberries on the longer palate set. The complexity of earth, minerality etc. is amazingly understated. As you continue to sip it, there is a light salted caramel quality, a whisper of vanilla, a haunting of beautiful soft spice, violets, fresh red flowers and the acidity is like a rain forest on the palate. The is finish is very polished, round, ripe, juicy, with elegant round fruits and soft bright florals. This is so easy to sip, it's beyond ridiculous. It's Grenache Burgundy style! Photos of their estate, vines and Winemaker/Owner Charles Smith. Charles grew up outside of Sacramento, California. Once there, he began to travel and settled in Denmark. While in Scandinavia, Charles managed rock bands throughout Europe for nine years. Traveling throughout Europe, he took in a great appreciation for food & wine; which ultimately created his interest in wine. In 1999, he moved back to the Pacific Northwest where he opened a wine shop on Bainbridge Island. But, later in 1999, traveled to Walla Walla and met a French winemaker. Through this friendship, he discovered a passion for Syrah and eventually moved to Walla Walla to make his own wine. Then In 2001, he released his first vintage, the 1999 K Syrah. The rest as they say is history. Interesting career path to say the least! This bottle at just under $38 at Costco is like stealing candy from a... — 9 years ago
A gift from a friend and my first taste of a "luxury branded wine designed to fit your lifestyle"(their marketing 😂)....I might not be their target customer since I live in a small bungalow home in Sacramento, but I'll give it the ole swirl/sniff/sip/spit anyways.
1 hour decant (lots of cloudy sediment). On the nose: very aromatic notes of black cherry, nutty vanilla, charcoal, cedar, floral. Taste: smooth, silky, rich teeth staining wine with blackberry pie, licorice, black currants, dark chocolate, pepper and a LONG dry finish.
Not feeling the luxury, just a well made Napa cab like a couple hundred others out there. Cheers!
Tusk..."because there are those who regard luxury and those who live it"...sounds like a deodorant commercial tag line😆 🤣 — 3 years ago

So I went into Total Wine In Sacramento,.last night of a week long business trip, thinking maybe they'd have a nice Barbera or Ridge Zin, and came out with this. Obviously too young, but jam packed with berries, game. Lovely floral finesse and lift. Just pure class. Made my week. — 7 years ago
Echo and Rig Sacramento. Good Cabernet. — 7 years ago
Robust. Not too sweet but not too dry either. — 8 years ago
Still a rather intriguing bottle of wine. This wine has got a rather interesting nose of mint, raspberry, herb. The entry is dirty raspberry, mulberry, green olive. Gets softer in the middle. Raspberry, fig, mushroom in the middle. The finish is where this one gets a little raucous. Green grape stem, hint of green bell pepper, oregano, and lots of brambly black cherry, acidic finish that was more apparent in the first hour, but settled down in the second hour. Bottle was gone very quickly. My inventory of this wine was +2'ed on the latest trip to Napa, and is available at the Sacramento International Airport Vino Volo as we speak. — 9 years ago
Mom and Dad like ok. A little musky… — 5 years ago
Still young for my tastes but checking in on a go-to producer. Killer with King Crab Salad sandwiches 🥪
This bottle was a bit slow out the gate and needed some air to reveal the magic inside. This bottle was a pick up from Corti Bros when passing through Sacramento via Tahoe.
Finesse, and beautifully prolific white wine structure all the way throughout.

Really enjoy Spoto from our hometown of Sacramento (especially the reserve cab using To-kalon Oakville Napa grapes). Medium red color. On the nose: cherry, floral, earthy. Taste: bright and fresh with cherry, raspberry, vanilla, mushrooms...restrained fruit, not a cherry bomb...thank goodness!! — 7 years ago

I loved this. When I go back to Sacramento area I will drive out again, thank you. — 8 years ago

Surprised how much I enjoyed this one. Had an extra night after kid sports in Sacramento so ran to Mustard’s for dinner. Enjoyed both the wine and the meal. — a year ago
