See previous notes. Classic Coonawarra mint, black fruits, dark chocolate and cigar box. Singing at 11 years but will go for another decade at least. Barb and I are flying to Adelaide today. Hire Car tomorrow for the 4 1/2 hours drive south to Coonawarra where we will be doing vintage at Bellwether for a week. Should be illuminating, hard work and rewarding with a great tutor in Sue Bell, owner and winemaker. Sue was lucky enough to be one of 12 in the annual Len Evans Tutorial a few years ago where they taste wines most of us can only dream of including flights of DRC, Rousseau etc. Sue was the Dux of her year and is in demand around Australia as a Show Judge. Should be a great week. — 5 years ago
This reminded me of the “dog food” analogy - meaning, this isn’t quite ready for human consumption.
@Robert Evans Jr needs to do his job and post all the wines...
This was good, but not great in my mind. Herbs and tobacco on the mid palate. Still a tannic monster. Good structure, but should have decanted this. Hold on to this vintage. — 6 years ago

Awesome. This wine just seemed to get better through the evening. Paired with bell & Evans chicken thighs (seasoned with kosher salt, pepper, litehouse poultry seasoning), baked sweet potato, mixed green salad with green olives, feta cheese and Maple Grove Farms Greek salad dressing — 8 years ago
Pale Lemon with a youthful greenish tinge. Aromas of wet straw and starting to develop secondary notes of lanolin and a little toast but a long way to go to reach full maturity. On the palate Citric Acid floods the sides and back of the tongue- mouth puckering. Tastes about 2 years old, not nearly 9 years and at least another 10 years cellaring ahead. Receives no oak influence and only 10.5% Alc. Highly awarded on the Australian Show Circuit with 4 Trophies. from the Royal Queensland Wine Show. From a 10 acre block at the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges in the Hunter Valley. First vintage in 1973 was a labour of love for the partners friends and families with the first grapes carried to the Winery in buckets in the back seat of Len Evans’ Bentley. .....a funny story 😉 — 9 years ago
A quick CV tasting with Margaret L on her return trip stopover. Excellent example with lively and softish textures and long finish. Opened 10/19/24 dinner with David. Still tasting the same, with Evans pork — 2 years ago
2021 noice! Eminently drinkable. Oak light, melon notes. Hints (only) of old style buttery wooded Aus chardy’s — 4 years ago
Complexity of dark fruit along with red currant berries and underneath side of tobacco leaf herb-leaf and cigar all together balances and deep on palate with yet soft structure at finishings 🤵🏼
Aromatic velvet and floral of rose garden 🕊 — 6 years ago
Smooth, slightly sweet start. Green/spicy end notes, a bit stronger than I'd prefer, but good for smaller sips — 8 years ago

Reserve version. shy nose. Fresh and young and dry. Wet rock. Linear. Needs to fatten up. — 3 years ago
A decent Napa cap, if a little predictable and overpriced — 3 years ago
Delicious! Acidic and fruit forward. Thank you @Charlie Evans! Love all the @Miner Family Winery wines you recommend! — 6 years ago
Very smooth — 8 years ago

This wine has the kitchen sink in it. Dark fruit is hiding under the prominent leather, herbs, mint, tobacco, and earth. It's a fine sipper for jazz nights by the fireplace. Made my teeth red.
