2020 vintage. Another successful Maçanita wine. A blend of 27% Alicante Bouschet, 25% Aragonez, 14% Castelão, 14% Trincadeira 12% Alfrocheiro and 8% others ( Baga, Tinta Carvalha , Touriga Nacional). Soils are yellow schist and granite. Vineyard altitude 280-380 m. Attractive nose with amarena cherries, raspberries, dark chocolate and Provencal herbs. Concentrated jammy black fruit balanced by tight acidity and a powerful tannic structure. Very good length with retronasal fruit and spices. Abv. 14,5% . Should age well. — 3 years ago
Very dry, dusty. Full bodied, would be good with salami or meat. — 4 years ago

100% Arinto grapes. Straw golden color with an interesting green hue. Grapes are grown in literal cracks in the volcanic soil. Intense mineral aromas along with hints of grapefruit. The palate is full of minerals and grapefruit as well along with an infusion of lemon. Nice note of salinity on the long and lingering finish. Beautiful freshness and acidity. Fresh and persistent. Outstanding and unique! — 2 years ago

This is a funny one too. My line manager (polish, her) is one the greatest wine lover I know. We've been working with one another for over 2 and half years but she's been my boss since January. We always have had that lovely habit to exchange wine bottles. Every time she travels and attends to tastings she would bring back a bottle to me and the other way around. This year I brought her back one of those white Beaujolais I shared earlier this month and she brought me back this one from Portugal.
Nice nose with black currant, bacon, smoke, blackberry even. This is intoxicating. The palate is easy going with a strong acid backbone and a lot of matter all along. Some width, some of these smokey notes, some tannins too in midpalate, that power up a good long smokey, fruity finish with some freshness. This is overall rather very good! — 4 years ago
