Wha wha weeee waaah. Teleportation straight back to burgundy - escargot under the clock tower, lunch on a bike ride of the country. Beast. Doesn’t get much better. — 3 years ago
Maal Bestial Malbec 2016: Full-bodied. Medium tannins. Big & bold fruit flavors. Plum, blackberry, black cherry, tobacco & spice, ending with a long smooth finish. A tremendous “beast” of a Malbec and the perfect pairing with Perry’s Famous Pork Chop dish! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago
Pop n pour:
Time has taken care of the overt and opulent blend of bacon fat and blueberrypie.
Today, 5 years later, this has significantly more elegance (!) and better balance. Gorgeous notes of lavender, dark plums and blackberries, coffeebeans, a spicy pepper/cinnamon/nutmeg mixture and a whiff of cocoapowder.
Great wine. Delicious. — 2 years ago

Costco wine Advent Calendar, Day 8.
I've never experienced this grape (Saperavi) or a wine from Georgia in the past (the country, not the state).
One of the better wines from the box thus far and quite good with mediterranean fare.
On the nose cherry, leather, and the slightest bit of barnyard.
Flavors are rich, but balanced with cherry, strawberry, and cranberry, backed by medium, well integrated tannins. Finish is medium plus. This feels like some sort of Grenache/Pinot Noir hybrid, but I belive the varietal is older than either of these. Nice

v10. Very nice wine. Soft candied cherry and smoked meat nose. Bold, rich, blackberry, plum and a hint of tar fruit. Smooth, soft, slightly tart , chocolate finish. Nicely balanced — 3 years ago
It is a beast of a wine and yet it is approachable. Tannic but sweet tannins, full bodied, black fruits, mineral with a super long finish. The leather, gamey, Forrest floor undercurrent is starting to develop but will need another 5 years. A hedonistic bomb. Will give you pleasure for another 10 to 15 years easy. — 4 years ago

A cabernet from down-under. Why not?
The nose shows intense notes of cherry, black currant, graphite, some oak and some mentholy note too. The palate shows a great acid drive, a wonderful cassis note shining through and through, some width, some weight on the sides, a lively, grippy mouthfeel that evolves into a very strong tannic wall in the rear. The mid palate is massive and powerful and leaves a fine grain all over a finish that lasts for a very long time with that shiny black currant note, a reminiscence of that menthol thing and a gentle bitter note in the very end too. It's very young and should benefit from a couple of additional years in bottle. Good stuff! — 6 months ago
