Black fruit, black cherries, spices, slight hints of licorice on the very Pinot Noir nose. The palate is structured, medium to strong bodied and very typical of Nuits Saints Georges but with good fruit and balance, making it a good delicious bottle, would be perfect with a touch more length. 90-91 pts
Difficult nose to get but delicate berries, with a good aftertaste. Very nice — 2 months ago
Spices and nice dark and red fruit on the nose and palate, nice balance, medium bodied plus with a soft texture of tannins, good. 89-90
Notes constantes, un beau fruit, des épices, bien équilibré, assez puissant mais sans excès, des tannins approchables et de belle texture. 89-90 — 4 years ago
Beautiful color. Rich, yet light. Not overly sweet. Pear, hint of orange. Reminds me a little of a white port, but not as heavy. Quite Delicious! — 7 years ago
This is killer. Just exquisite. The level of juiciness and energy is next level. Wow. The nose is black olive, granite, pastille. The palate is so pure, dense and refined with lovely granite crackle. Unreal tiny berry fruit intensity and such power and depth. Ultra delicious. That sweet blackberry granite infused fruit with an almost treacly texture due to the minerals and crackling ripe sweet fruit. This is truly thrilling wine. — 2 months ago
June 2023. Medium crystalline red. Fruity nose, integrated palate. Medium bodied. Fresh and balanced. Easy to like. Just past peak, I think. Drink up. — 2 years ago
Drank this during the CellarTracker Virtual Burgundy Tasting last night via Zoom. My first experience with any of the wines of Domaine Julien. This was a pop and pour situation and I wished I had given it more airtime because this was suuuuuuper primary and tightly coiled. Loads of tart, wild alpine strawberries, like the Smultron you find in a Scandinavian forest, taking center stage. Tongue pricking acidity. Beyond that, there isn’t much more at this stage in development. However, the purity is beyond typical for a humble Bourgogne and a few years in the cellar would do this a great service. I expect better things when the tannins better integrate and secondary characteristics begin to appear. Drink with an extended decant or hold until 2025. — 5 years ago

I love this. The VV. Such old vine sap and density while being insanely fresh. So much energy. Really fine tannin here and just intense granite/ blackberry pastille immersion. Terrific showing. One of the most underrated wines in St. Jo. Nose is stunning. Floral, blackberry flower, olive juice, smoked meat, black olive, just wow. Good dark fruited opulence but invigorating as bell. Such contrast. Unreal today. 9.6 to 9.7. Stunning finesse and refinement. So juicy and olivey. Unreal. — a day ago
