The most hyper-masculine wine I’ve had in a while, this is deep, dark, roasted fruit, strong coffee, cigar, roasted meat, and smoke on the nose and it doubles down in the mouth with structure you don’t expect for under $30. Not an everyday style, but interesting tonight. — 4 years ago
Pop and pour. A fabulous deep gold color. On the nose: fragrant notes of apricot, nutmeg, floral, honey dew melon. Taste: creamy, elegant, rich wine with pear/apricot, cloves, saline, spice, and a nice honey lemon curd long finish. YUM! Awesome with the oysters shipped from Hog Island Oyster Company. — a year ago
From @Joshua Sigler “Recently I’ve paid €79 for a wine I liked a lot less.”
Perfect for a rainy Irish evening overlooking the rolling hills of County Clare in the Burren with Sheep grazing in the distance. — 4 years ago
Its no Peter Michael, but not bad. Winery notes, Hunter region their home since 1960. Joss and Anna De Iuliis followed their family passion for wine and chose a property in the Lovedale Road region of the Lower Hunter Valley, converting a grazing property into a 20ha vineyard with the first vines planted in 1990. Australian wine critic James Halliday has been rating De Iuliis Wines a 5 star winery since 2010. The 2011 Aged Release sémillion is kept at the winery and aged in bottle for an additional seven years, allowing it to develop beeswax and honey characteristics while maintaining a fresh citrus palate. This is sémillion the way it is meant to be, without having to invest cellaring space. Only 250 cases produced.

Strong black pepper nose, with blueberry and jasmine. Wonderfully complex on the palate with dancing ripe red currants and blueberries. Amazing and delicious. Slight tannins and long, smooth finish. — 4 years ago
A milestone birthday requires some fun wines! 1st bottle to polish off is a 2008 Marcassin chard with Hog Island oysters, butter poached lobster, and shrimp.
Double decant for fine cloudy sediment. An irresistible medium gold color.. On the nose: nectarines, pineapple, vanilla toast, lemon, and crushed rocks. Taste: so gooood after 12 years. A slightly creamy wine with carmalized pear, wet stones, lemon peel, and a mineral peach long finish with good acidity. — 4 years ago
Fruit forward, jammy - little stem flavor. Lacking of sophistication. — 5 years ago
