Dark ruby purple. Abundant inviting nose of woody blueberry cobbler. Full-bodied palate confirms the nose with a bit of creme fraiche. Fine dusty tannins. Medium acidity. Long, luxurious, black velvet finish. Grilled or roasted meats are the friends of this big, dark Tempranillo. Lamb or game would work particularly well. The grapes in this 2022 vintage are from Massa Vineyard in Carmel Valley (not Frei). Bosc pear, nutty, saline and low acidity. I usually prefer brighter, crisper whites, but this is very nice for Fall. — a year ago
