Indigene Cellars

Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot

Indigene Fleurie Gamay 2021

Very drinkable but quite serious. Comes off as slightly underripe and at 11.5% clearly restrained. A lot of minerality and earth with some fruit. Good bit of structure. Appreciated it more than I enjoyed it overall - slightly overpriced for what it is. — 2 years ago

Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Pinot Noir

Always killing it on the sparkles these guys. The indigene edges it for me but this is great. — 5 years ago

Ambiente Central Coast Red Blend 2015

Well rounded wine! Just enough dryness, just enough fruit flavors, smoothness is perfect! — 7 years ago

Indigène Extra Brut Cremant du Jura Sparkling Chardonnay Blend

This vintage is great. Love having the indigene in 750's as well. — 9 years ago

Parenthesis Syrah 2018

Light fruity but earthy aromas, deep almost opaque inky black, dark fruit flavors of blackberries, moderate tannins. — 3 years ago

Atelier du Sage de la Passe

Indigene

A minuscule production (557 bottles) of pure Petit Verdot in the Languedoc, consulted by the late Christian Prud'homme (ex-Mouton Rothschild and Yquem). Not as overpowering as pure Petit Verdot can be, this has elegance and depth. — 4 years ago

Melville

Logan's Pinot Noir 2013

Bright nose of strawberry, cherry, along with hints of spice. The palate is surprisingly soft given how (relatively) young this is, suggesting that this may be on a fast evolutionary track. Lots of primary flavors coupled with (pretty subdued) earthy components. A great example of what St Rita Hills provides. Not the best that Melville has to offer - Block M, Terraces, and Cone 115 Indigene hold that place - but this is a great intro into one of the best wineries in California. — 7 years ago

Peter Michael Winery

Cuvée Indigène Chardonnay 2016

16’ Peter Michael Cuvee Indigene.
Do yourself a favor & decanted this in a cellar for 60- 90 minutes.
Intense nose of mineral, dried apricot, peach.
WOW… Rich pear, fig, butter, honeysuckle, hazelnut, Banana foster, 4/10 acidity.
Flipping sick!
Wish I had a case of this.
No problem holding onto this wine for another decade.

@David L we had the 2014 version of this in a 6 bottle blind horizontal of all the PM chards back in May. Consensus of the wine group was the Cuvée Indigene was the favorite, even over the point rouge.

@Mark Turner Not surprised…that’s what I come to expect from Peter Michael. Just make the best wine you possibly can is there attitude. Get your hands on some of the 16. Wait a few years and enjoy.

Melville

Block M 115 Pinot Noir 2012

One of Melville's Monopole Wine Club bottlings, the Block M Clone 115 is the same clone they use for their Indegene Small Lot Collection wine (though I don't know if the Indigene is from Block M). A really complete wine in it's own right, it lacks some of the complexity of wines like Terraces or Block M, but it's fascinating to drink because it gives you some insights into where some of the flavor components of those other wines come from. Really enjoyable wine. — 9 years ago
