This extremely dark wine is indigo in color. The nose features black fruit aromas, like blackberry, fig and plum. There are a ton of spices at work here, too, but in a very subtle way. Cinnamon, allspice, thyme and sage notes appear. The palate has some very firm tannins at work, while the black fruit shows itself again. The dark flavors align with the smells on the nose. This wine is a perfect mate for a juicy rib eye steak, or a nice pork chop hot off the grill. — 3 years ago

This wine is dark red in the glass, almost indigo. On the nose, the savory notes jump out first. Tar, spice, cedar and cigars combine for a superior olfactory presentation. The palate brings black fruit and savory notes together, as plum and blackberry meld with earth, leather and tobacco for a formidable display. The tannins are medium firm, which is great for sipping and functional for pairing with a pan fried pork chop. — 2 years ago

Some heavy hitting on Monday night with Domaine Brin’s “Vendemia”. Mostly Duras with some Fer servadou and Merlot blended in. From SW France, this is a bit unyielding similar to the neighboring wines in Cahors. Dark & loaded with cracked pepper notes, this needs to open up a bit, but the future will be delicious. The record from Circuit Des Yeux, titled- Finding Indigo had a similar effect. It demands your undivided attention to hear the haunting interplay between the soaring vocals and meticulously nuanced arrangements.
One of my favorite albums of the last few years. — 7 years ago
Last had 2 years ago and the age has been good to this I think. Pours a deep inky indigo. Dark fruit and some olive brine with integrated but present tannins. Mouth coating. Nice acid and a long finish. Really quite delicious and certainly an excellent value. — 2 years ago
This wine has an indigo color in the glass. The nose is full of dark fruit, with blackberry, plum and black currant coming into play. Notes of cigars, leather, white pepper and funky earth make me think the Syrah plays a much larger part than its percentage indicates. The palate has all the black fruit and some ripe, red cherries in addition. The acidity has some zip to it and the tannins are firm enough for brisket. The finish isn’t terribly long, but it holds the fruit flavors for a delicious few minutes. — 2 years ago
Im beginning to explore Burgundy. Medium indigo color. Bright red fruit on the nose. Smooth and light-med bodied. Cherry and strawberry, raspberry. Seems med-light tannic and acidic. Light minerality and earthiness. Pleasant and easy drinking. While in the glass I began to appreciate it more and more. Smooth and delicate. — 4 years ago
2009 vintage. Deep ruby w indigo hues: full bodied, silky mouthfeel, long finish. Ripe blackfruit, plum, baking spice, black pepper, leather notes. — 7 years ago
This beautiful Toro wine is dark, deep and delicious. The Tinto de Toro grapes - Tempranillo elsewhere - make a wine of such a deep indigo that no light comes through it. Aromas abound, like blackberry, cassis, anise and vanilla. The flavors run along those same lines, with big, jammy fruit and a tarry understroke. Acidity is spot-on and the tannins are plenty firm without being a distraction. — 8 years ago
F Me Wine. Huh. Yup, this has me. Tobacco and oaky lovey goodness. Nothing about this wine says boring steady solid Barbera. It says, "Hey baby, let's make sweet sweet complex indigo berrilicious over and over grape love." And then you can't remember anything that is or was before. So Good. Can easily become my go-to over Macchia Mischievous. — 8 years ago

Dark ruby/indigo; leather, spice, pencil lead, ripe black plum on the nose; black pepper, sour cherry, leather, with fine dusty tannins upfront; lingering cherry on the finish, slightly tart.
