Jerome Reserve Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2021 Pinot Noir Jerome Reserve mixes crushed raspberries and stone with hints of sage and rosemary. It's sweetly spiced with vividly ripe wild berry fruits and juicy acidity that maintains energy throughout. Medium in length, this leaves a staining of primary concentration and a pleasantly bitter twang, finishing lightly structured. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)

Château Féret-Lambert

Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Enjoyed this one with a classic French meal of steak and béarnaise with roasted carrots and dauphinois potatoes. Hints of oak and cherry and red currants. Lots of merlot keeps it soft and supple. One guys comment was “tart cherries peel through the windows in the rain-slicked cobblestone alley.” Quite poetic and really accurate. There is a wet stone quality to this wine that appeals to me. Enjoyed and would drink again. — 4 months ago

Yarra Valley Syrah 2021

Pop and ppur yesterday. Notes from 24 hrs open unrefrigerated on the counter. On the nose: olive brine, cabbage, garrigue, blackberry, vaguely like a (WA/OR) Rocks district syrah. On the palate: lovely acidity, solid density, blackberry, earth, stewed cabbage. The juiciness is intense on the finish, almost overpowering the soft grainy tannin. A gorgeous btl. Yum. — 7 months ago
