Light, transparent ruby. No shortage of funk on the nose - lots of manure, mushrooms, and dried herb with little to no fruit. Medium, but gritty, tannins and less acid than I was expecting. In the mouth the earthiness continues with dark, stewed fruit - lots of plums. This smells better than it taste, but was different and enjoyable for pizza night. — 5 years ago
— 2 years ago
I liked it! Serve chilled. When you’re tired of rosé but not feeling like a cold gamay, schiava is the answer. — 5 years ago

This is what Vernatsch is all about!
Light (11.5% alc) and crystal clean yet quite expressive with cherries and plumes and cranberries. There’s also a whiff of lemon peel and a stony, herby undertone.
Crisp & light on the palate and very, very juicy with a pinch of herby spice and a mineral backbone. Despite all it’s lightness this has loads of precision, character & personality. Love it!! — 5 years ago
Pale red tastes great on day 2. Light, fragrant, delicate. Easy to drink but not too easy. — 6 years ago

High elevation Italian Schiava. Bright garnet/ruby color. Aromas of sour red fruit, freshly turned soil and roasted nuts. Flavors of sour cherry/raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate with additional notes of tobacco and minerals. Slight hint of oak on the medium length finish. Ripping acidity and light on tannins. 12.5% Alcohol. Light bodied but rather intense, juicy and persistent. Very “Pinot Noir-like.” Can handle a chill. — 5 months ago
