A very rare bird almost impossible to find where the production on their 9 plots only amounts to a total of 9000 btls. I discovered their wines when I attended a Bizot tasting & lunch at Marea in Feb 2020 where I found their whole cluster wines had this beautiful purity of fruit & transparency. This btl was no different offering up an amazing nose of red cherry & berry fruits, lush & pure on the palate with baking spices, floral & mineral notes. A wine that is so good now you can drink young but will reward time in the cellar. — 5 years ago

My 1st btl opened from this producer since attending a tasting & lunch last year at Marea with the winemaker Thomas Berry. I was blown away by the purity of fruit & transparency the wines showed. I have been on a search since to find a few btls of his wines only to find that they are virtually impossible to find in the US & the pricing is prohibitive. I preferred his newer vintages shown at the tasting but the 06 still showed the purity, balance & finish. This had notes of dark cherry, strawberry, Vosne spice, earth, mineral & violet. — 5 years ago

@Ron Siegel Thank your for the kind words. I have to tell you I never heard of the producer until you posted. At their price points you can drink any of the Burgundy titans. This is a long shot question but what the heck. I only bring it up because years ago I was drinking the ‘98 Grange at an afternoon birthday celebration at Hillstones (Houston’s ) at the Citicorp building on Lexington & 53rd and we got into a hardcore discussion about wine with a couple who were visiting NYC. Any chance that was you? My guess is when you visit NYC you are eating at a different level but I always like to take a shot that is why I am asking. It is more likely I sat next to you at Milos or Sistina.
