Premiers Crus de la Côte des Blancs Champagne Chardonnay

A wonderful Winter Blanc de Blanc- gorgeous masculine champagne with musky. Quite different than others, but perfect for the cold months. — 13 days ago

7 Crus Brut Champagne Chardonnay

Delectable Wine
9.0

The NV Brut 7 Crus is a very pretty, entry-level wine in this range. Bright, mineral and intensely vibrant, the 7 Crus is all energy. All the elements are so well proportioned. A blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, this captures all the house signatures with tons of energy and better overall balance than in some previous editions. White flowers, chalk and citrus linger. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2023. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Taittinger

Comtes de Champagne Grands Crus Blanc de Blancs Champagne Chardonnay 2004

Pale straw lemon color with frothy mousse and lively bead of bubbles, produced only in exceptional vintages, grapes from Cote des Blancs. A nose of fresh fruit with yeast, nutty notes and floral scents. On the palate flavors of peach, berry and citrus flavors, floral with biscuit tones. Great balance with acidity, delicate textures, long finish ending creamy with toasty smoky oak and chalky mineral character. Nice! Drinking well now! — 2 months ago

Le Grand Pompée Saint-Joseph Syrah 2018

Black fruits, liquorice, pepper and animal smoke notes. Racy Saint Joseph, on youth. Nice delicacy, without the persistence of the greatest wines in the region. To be tested again in 2 years, to taste it on nuanced notes.

7 Crus Extra-Brut Avize Champagne Blend

So well balanced. It’s not insanely complex but checks all the boxes I want from a champagne at this price. Great acidity, tart fruit, some citrus, a bit of marzipan, some toast with butter, lemon curd finish. Lovely! — 6 months ago

Château Grand-Pontet

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

2020 vintage. The last vintage for this wine as it was bought from the Bécot family ( owners of Beauséjour-Bécot) by the owners of Haut-Brion in 2021. It will be incorporated into Château Quintus (which is a merger of 3 estates: Tertre-Daugay, L'Arrosée and Grand-Pontet). Many Saint-Emilion estates disappeared, incorporated into other estates, some very good wines sadly disappeared like Curé Bon La Madeleine (now into Canon), Cadet-Piola (now into Soutard) and so on. The fact that Grand Cru Classés can legally be incorporated into Premier Grands Crus Classés tells you that you have to take the classification with more than a grain of salt. A bit shy on the nose, even after a few hours. Medium-bodied, nice value for a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. — a year ago
