For $11.50 per bottle, this Cava punches way above its price. Nice bubbles, slightly sweet, no off flavors. It doesn’t compare with Champagne but it’s not really trying to be Champagne. And it is better than many other Cavas I have had. — 8 months ago

We opened this beautiful Cava, the 2020 Ravantós i Blanc Conca del Riu Anoia Extra Brut Cava Rose. From Catalonia Sant Sadurni D'Anoia, Spain. A blend of 44% Xarel-lo, 39% Macabeo, 12% Parellada and 5% Monastrell.

On the nose is strawberry, lemon, white peach, lime peel, almond and a bit of minerality.

On the palate there is strawberry, citrus, lemon, lime peel, tarragon, hazelnut, yellow apple and minerality.

This wine is medium bodied with an onion skin color with a bone dry mouthfeel medium + to high acidity that leaves us with a long fresh citrus wet rock finish. At $23 you can't go wrong. Bright Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, spices, oak and smoky tobacco notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with notes of pepper, tobacco, cedar and vanilla. Long finish, nice balance with firm tannins, ending with oak and earthy notes. Ok but a few more years in the bottle might benefit! — 8 months ago

Pure joy in the bottle. A fun summer afternoon back in the day spent with that girl that you still think about when that song comes on. Clear lemon in the glass with faint green flecks. Big floral aromatics initially with herbs and mint. Ripe pears and lemon curd with a dash of honeydew. Apple juice and fresh cut grass.

Richer and more full bodied than you were expecting with high acidity. Really, really nice texture and mouthfeel going on here. Vivacious and lively throughout. The attack is dominated by memories of her before things fell apart. When life was good and the sun shined a little more brightly. An exciting and lovely wine. — 2 years ago
