Xose Lois Sebio

O Con Viño de Encostas Albariño

Outstanding Albariño by Xosé Luis Sebio (winemaker at Coto de Gomariz). From old vines in Aios (Sanxenxo) in the Salnes subzone of Rías Baixas. Clean, precise nose with aromas of citrus, minerals, sea breeze. Very refreshing, elegant on the palate. Citrus, zesty acidity. Long, saline finish. Very very good — 3 years ago

Clos De La Tech

Domaine Lois Louise Cote Sud Pinot Noir 2017

2017 vintage. Medium-heavy body. Dark color. Rhubarby, plummy nose. Muscular with a consistent palate fill and push the entire show. No dropoff anywhere. Not as delicate as I’d like but this is the best domestic Pinot I’ve had in a while. Holy bleep. 1.10.24. — 9 months ago

New name to me. Stemmy? Lean?

@Shay A Not lean and maybe some stem inclusion but not obvious/overt. Big body w/o fruit bomb status. Low production but if you can find online or retail (don’t think it’s avail retail), would likely clock in around $90-$100.

Tesseron Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

Fun fact- the vineyards were once owned by Robbin Williams. Enjoyed a vertical tasting 2016, 2017 and 2018. 2016 was my favorite. 2018 has the best chance of becoming like 2016. Mt. Veeder fruit so I knew I would love it. Beautiful, bramble fruit, full bodied, Napa red blend. @55Seventy — 2 years ago

These are on my list to try, but it’s still absolutely mind blowing how these are twice as expensive as their Pontet Canet label out of Bordeaux, who has been around for decades with amazing scores.

@Shay A I was pretty shocked by the price. The 2016 was beautiful but I have had similar for less. The person pouring mentioned the Bordeaux connection but did not say Pontet Canet. I had no idea. For me I will go with the PC over this one.
