Really a beautiful and captivating Syrah apparently from right across from Cote-Rotie. Decanted 5+ hours and I recommend that at this stage. So much dark fruit - cherry, some plum - just delicious. Wonderful mouthfeel and a nice long finish with excellent acid. Has a certain seamlessness to it that makes it easy to keep drinking. Great with skirt steaks on the grill. — 4 years ago
Delicious wine! Would definitely drink again! — 8 years ago
Good example of a Cote- Rotie a bit to the international style with a good bit of newer oak. The wine is unfiltered, which gives a good sense of earth to the wine. Well made, good earth, bramble and some mushroom on the palate. Served with roasted chicken, polenta and sautéed spinach. — 7 years ago
The debut vintage and a stunning debut. Bob Feller like. Incredible spice. Next level. Some wood but buttressed by amazing florals. Violets and roses galore. Wow. Granite and olive. 9.8 nose. Just blown away. Palate is so concentrated yet so silky. Sweet, rich and fresh with exquisite tannins. Dark berry fruit of the tiny kind. High high quality fruit here and absolutely a barn burner of a finish. This is very very good wine. — 2 years ago
Very nice aromatics. Couldn't mistake it for anything but Northern Rhone. Approachable on opening and with the new oak had a very modern style at first. Decanted in a "duck" decanter, so lots of exposure to air. Evolved to a more pleasant / less modern style quickly even while retaining some of the new oak. Served in Rhone / Syrah glasses. Meaty but not too heavy, good palate of leather, earth, smoke, and some mushrooms. — 9 years ago
