Clear, pale ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, strawberry jam, and baking spices; on the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, medium tannins, medium body, high alcohol, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of maraschino cherries, raspberries, and clay pots with a long finish. Just what you want in a balanced weeknight red. Pretty and fruity nose shows bright dark red berries, spice, and subtle crushed stone. Fairly full in the mouth, with darker fruit than the nose shows, and some savory garrigue notes. Acids are low but not too low, and there’s a bit of tannin for structure. Only 14.5% (which is one reason I tried it). Nice with beef chow fun take-out! — 10 months ago
