1996 vintage. 6% Cab Franc but 50+% Cab and remaining % Merlot. Last tasted 9.29.24 (9.5) and 8.2.24 (9.6). This specimen nice fill and halfway saturated cork. Decanted and throwing appropriate sed. Tasted 30 mins post-decant. Light-medium body. Dark cherry and milk chocolate nose. Cocoa powder and chocolate-covered cherry in the flavors. Tannins primarily on the back palate. More than holding up and getting by. This has a few more years afoot. Gonna say it again for those in the back…this is the best wine they’ve ever made-white or red. 2000 vintage. Mid-shoulder fill with top-notch cork. Decanted and tasted after 3 hours. Medium/medium-heavy body. Jello chocolate pudding nose. Chunky mix of dark and milk chocolate flavors in the frontal palate that picked up a hitchhiking, dark plum passenger in the mid-palate and cruised to the finish without any speed bumps. Tannins almost completely integrated. Smooth, rich, weighty, crowd-pleasing finish. Wanted a small, dirty dissenting opinion to further confirm the current harmony/vibe but none was forthcoming. So much life ahead. Zero rush to crush. 08.01.25. — 2 months ago
An excellent wine from a not great year. Gorgeous on the nose. Plum, cassis, lavender, and milk chocolate. Just a bit weak on the finish. — 6 months ago
Medium ruby , medium wide rim . Quite sweet red currant , spicy tobacco notes , milk chocolate . Quite sweet spicy red fruits on the palate , touch of grafite and tobacco . Nice acidity , quite noticeable tannins still . Pretty good length . Enjoyable now but can still go further , and improve over the next few years , and probably last another 10 years . — 3 years ago
Full bodied. Fragrant. Filled with dark fruit, milk tea, mocha, potpourri, orange peel, tranberry. Build for a long life but enjoyable today with some air. — 3 years ago
Phenomenal! Sexy and silky smooth. Fabulous bouquet. Full-bodied and beautifully integrated. Milk chocolate, black cherries, blueberries. Satisfying finish. Oh my! — 3 months ago
It's Open That Bottle Night(last Sat in Feb), and thought this would be a nice pull to celebrate the occasion.
1 hour decant(decent sediment). A striking still dark garnet with some bricking. On the nose: perfumed stewed cherry/plum, smoked meat, worn leather, cigar ash, milk chocolate, rich soil, some band-aid(brett) Taste: smooth, polished, vibrant wine with plum, tobacco, bitter chocolate, worn leather, earth, and a long graphite coffee ground finish. YUM!!!! — 8 months ago
