Big sexy, gorgeous dark ruby currants & cassis. Blackberries, mulberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, some blue fruits some black pepper & spice. Nicely layered baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove. Dark spice, crush dry rock powder, limestone, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, lavender, violets and dark floral bouquets.

The body is full, thick, ripe, ruby fruits; Blackberries, mulberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries & some blue fruits. Some black pepper. Nicely layered baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove. Dark spice, crush dry rock powder, limestone, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, lavender, violets and dark floral bouquets. The acidity round and beautiful. The finish is big, beautiful finish is quite bold & sexy. However, does drop off a little in the mid palate.

Had this 1year ago. Founded in 1979 by John Shafer, went from riding trains in Chicago to riding a TD-9 tractor in Napa. Blend of 56%Merlot, 28%Cab Sauv & 16%Malbec, aged for 20 mos French oak, despite 15.3% ABV, it’s well balanced. Wonderful berry fruit aromas, flavors of cherry, jammy blackberry and rasp with notes of cacao and sweet herbs. Lingering finish ending with earthy mineral. Had this with a USDA prime Fillet. Drink now & over next few years, any longer the wine will lose vibrant quality. Nice! — 7 years ago

One of the great names in World Wine IMO. This is the time it takes to cross from one side of the Vineyard to the other, so it's a relatively small property. Of their single Vineyard Pinots I tried to taste and buy the Judd which had Sold Out. This is the Wallis which possesses good structure. A little firm at present. Put it in the cellar. Had another another bottle 6 years later in late October 2023. Still has a firmness to the wine overall which it may never lose. Still enjoyable with savoury red fruits and Sous Bois. Have the last one in a year or two. 90 points. Had my last bottle on 4th September 2025. Those same luscious red fruits were still present. An excellent Pinot. — 9 years ago

One of the lighter bodied Cuvées from Ten Minutes. My favourite is the Judd vineyard for Pinot Noir. See previous Coolart Road notes. Mid crimson in colour. Red cherry, varnishy smoky nose. Barely medium weight palate but M plus intensity of flavour. My last 2015 Coolart Road. We had a great cellar visit and lunch just before Christmas 2023. — 2 years ago
