Plenty of mineral and long lemony finish — 3 years ago
Brought by a friend from his cellar. Popped and poured. The 2016 “Les Charmes Dessus” pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with rather powerful notes of tropical fruits: pineapple and passion fruit with some lemons, honeysuckle, caramel, limestone minerals and subtle baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and grippy, slightly chalky. There is a very attractive, creamy texture too. A very lovely wine that works pretty darned well with octopus carpaccio. Drink now through 2031. — 8 months ago

Nose of nuts, brioche, vanilla, apples, and light citrus. On the palate, rich lemon and slight grapefruit, cooked apples, toast, vanilla. Excellent balance. 2015 vintage in 2024. — 8 months ago
Honeydew Melon, lime, green apple. Outstanding — a year ago
Beautiful garnet color. Smokey, musty, and earthy on the nose. Cedar, black raspberries, leather, and tobacco. Well integrated and not overpowering. Very satisfying finish. A real treat to drink a 40-year old wine that is so pleasing to smell, look at, and taste. — 2 years ago
