I bought this for the winter months and finished the last of it over the weekend. This is a blended malt named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese Whisky. He was the first Japanese who mastered Whisky making in Scotland and brought this expertise back to Japan. It was an incredibly pure and rich Whisky with a certain smokiness. I don’t drink enough Whisky to know the difference but this could easily have been Scotch to my palate. 43% ABV. — 3 years ago
This is enjoyable in a massive CA overripe wine style! There’s a good amount of all the peppers, bell, jalapeños, white, cracked black, huge amount of purple/black fruit. Jan. Vanilla and some woodsy notes. I’d drink again. — 3 months ago
Very smooth and easy to drink. Had some hard candy notes on the nose and taste. — a year ago
Excellent 2015 Oppenlander vineyard Pinot Noir. Smooth, aromatic, rich, lively, black cherry, Plum, bright acidity, light leather and earth notes. — 3 years ago
Dark and rich. A little sweeter than I expected with the port. Would buy again. — 4 years ago
Let it breathe, it definitely gets better (not that it was bad). — 3 years ago
Love the dried fruit (Black Current and fig ) to go along with blueberry. The wine exhibits both power and finesse and has a very pleasant lingering finish — 3 years ago
