2018 - had on 1/23/25 with baked Rigatoni - very smooth cab. Nice body. — a year ago
Serious bottle of wine that is just about damn near perfect! Needs air to breathe so be sure to decant or let sit. Tannins were great, ripe fruits and a smooth finish. Paired with homemade vodka sauce and rigatoni. — 3 years ago
Excellent 2018 Teeter! Paired amazing with shrimp & feta over rigatoni. Thank you Benoit for this delicious vintage @Benoit Touquette 🙏🍷 — 5 years ago
This was a random bottle from the cellar on normal a Thursday night paired with a simple bowl of Mezzi Rigatoni and Marinara. I know very little about this Biodynamic estate but with Dressner as the importer, it has my attention. It appears to be declassified Chianti Rufina.
Popped and poured; consumed over several hours. In the glass, deep ruby with a translucent core and slightly browning edges, possibly indicating its near 11 years of age. Medium viscosity. On the nose, stewed black berries and black cherries, some VA, old leather bound books and dusty earth with medium+ intensity. On the palate, a rather powerful cherry red rope licorice character dominates accompanied by mushrooms, dried herbs and a bitterness that reminded me of walnuts. Medium tannins which seem completely integrated at this point. The acid seems to be on the higher end of the scale yet, the wine remains fairly balanced since it’s so well endowed with fruit. Medium+ finish.
I gotta say, I’m really digging this wine. It was fun on its own and worked really well with food. If this bottle is an indicator of the estate’s style and quality then I am definitely looking forward to experiencing more. Drinking very well now so no need to hold longer. Drank with rigatoni alla vodka with meatballs. Very good light red fruit with some age. Easy and pleasant to drink. Smooth. Light finish. — 10 months ago
I was a little concerned I let it go too far in bottle on its own, but with pepperoni pizza and rigatoni bolognase and a little time to air out, it was very nice. I think one of the few Beaujolais wines that can spend more time in bottle reliably. — 2 years ago
Dependably enjoyable #grandcruchampagne 2012: yeasty nose, laid back citrus and some wet stone aromas. Still vigorous fine bubbles on the palate, nicely balanced but definitely tending towards very dry. Paired marvelously with a lentil soup starter and Cacio e Pepe rigatoni with sautéed shrimp dining al fresco (BYOB with reasonable corkage fee FTW!) on a relatively pleasant early summer evening in Houston. While a very nice bottle of bubbly, I must admit I was expecting a bit more verve given the GC vintage label. #fatcork — 3 years ago
Lovely wine paired with rigatoni alla vodka and stuffed artichokes. Cherries and plum and not overly dry. Look forward to drinking this again. — 6 years ago
This may have been one of the best wines I’ve ever had. Perfect for a social distance night on the deck, 12 feet from our best friends. Served with a fabulous rigatoni with home made sauce. Perfect. — 6 years ago
At an Italian Restaurant on the Gold Coast having a nice pasta dish of Rigatoni with Lamb Shoulder. This wine by San Guido where their top Cuvée is the famous Sassicaia. This wine is 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Oak maturation is well balanced using a combination of new and used oak. The nose shows obvious Cabernet traits and shows again how suitable Bolgheri is to Bordeaux blends - plummy notes. A good match with the dish. A dry finish. — a year ago

“Ana’s-Cëtta” is the white #Nascetta wine by @elviocogno who helped bring the variety back from near extinction in the 1990s in the commune of Novello, #Langhe, #Piedmont.
The 2022 delivers aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, verbena and Mediterranean herbs. Apple, pear, quince and pineapple flavors then come into play. This quickly followed by a waxy texture, balanced by lime zest, with notions of crushed minerals on the finish.
The winery suggests it is “ideal as an accompaniment to vegetable dishes, white meats, raw fish, oysters and creamy cheeses.” Maybe not as ideal, but paired with rigatoni, sausage and fennel allowed some contrast to expose and heighten many of the sensations…BRAVO! — 2 years ago
With parm red sauce rigatoni and spaghetti 🍝 — 4 years ago
Floral, saline, berry aromas. Medium body. Paired with Sicilian style swordfish with rigatoni. — 5 years ago
2014. I had plans on cooking a little bit fancier meal for this Valentine’s Day, but we were iced in, so it ended up being rigatoni with homemade meatballs and a wine from one of my favorite Sicilian producers. Their vineyard designated wines are more complex, but this wine is always great to have in the cellar. ❤️ — 5 years ago
Gorgeous, a young Sophia Loren, classic beauty with pure beam of cherry fruit mingled with dried herbs, olive, damp Earth and almost a subtle minty & licorice note. Just the right amount of juicy acidity & tannins - so cohesive & balance like a Ballerina. Need more of this type of Chianti Classico in my life.
