Beautiful gewurtz that paired nicely with a dinner of spicy, smokey, and citrus sushi and wagyu beef dishes.
Pale golden yellow. Beautiful aromatics of honeysuckle, nectar, apricot and lychee. Features a medium sweet and fruit forward palate with tropical fruits, starfruit, apricot, mango, and peach. Underlying it all is a slate and mineral component, like petrichor. Good acidic structure. — 4 years ago
Very nice sweeter styled Alsace Riesling. Big-boned and loose-moraled, the nose has lots of honey and petrol, with super-ripe golden delicious apple fruit. Full-bodied in the mouth: think more Sauternes in mouthfeel than Auslese. Dries considerably on the long finish. Very nice. — 4 years ago
Skin-contact Pinot Gris from the Neuberg vineyard in Buhl, northwest of Guebwiller in the Haut-Rhin (Alsace). Slightly cloudy, medium salmon color. Complex nose with aromas of candied orange, pink grapefruit and hints of red fruit and sweet spices. Round, medium bodied. Citrus flavors, good acidity. Long finish with grapefruit notes. — 5 years ago
I celebrated another year on this planet earlier this week, always glad when I am continuing to count days gone by! Some fun stuff in the works for tonight.
Birth year bottle, yes, I'm old... Notes forthcoming... Smelling great in the recent decant!
Intense rehydrated pineapple, light sweet, absolutely awesome, can't wait to open the 'better' bottle in another couple months for my wife's b-day! — 8 years ago
Riesling from biodynamically-farmed vineyards around the villages of Bergholtz and Guebwiller (south of Colmar), one of the sunniest, warmest parts of Alsace. Intense, concentrated nose with aromas of yellow fruit and citrus (candied lemon). Medium to full-bodied, round, great texture and length. Should have waited a few more years — 3 years ago
