Chablis Chardonnay 2022

9.4

What a lifted expression of a chard this is.
Nose doesn’t reveal too much, but there’s a hint of white flowers. Mid palate is all about honeysuckle with baking spices and baked apples. A cut grass note comes along for the ride. Pristine, squeaky clean, ethereal finish. Burgundy at its finest. Food would spoil the enjoyment of this example.

Aszú 5 Puttonyos Tokaji 2008

Tasted in wine class: wow, really good. Intense apricots, nuts, dried apricots, honey. Great acidity balancing the sweetness. Super complex, super delicious. — 4 years ago

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2021

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru retains its serious and backward nose, very saline and still with that faint tang of kelp/Japanese nori. The palate is beautifully balanced with a keen thread of acidity, notes of orange rind and a more malic finish than I recall, yet with the same wondrous elegance and poise. This will age wonderfully in bottle and require time for the aromatics to awaken. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2023)
