McKahn Family Cellars - 2019 Grenache - WOW! I love Grenache and this is definitely my new favorite!!! this is just about the perfect wine. The nose is blueberry pie fresh out of the oven. The initial palate is loaded with big ripe black and purple fruit and berries. This is so good and complex. Blackberry, boysenberry, plumb, ripe sweet juicy grapes fresh off the vine, and a hint of raspberry. Then comes the earthy tones of graphite and oak. There is a hint of chocolate and spice in the background. The finish is dry and absolutely no sourness anywhere. This is a true gem!!!!!

Not your typical sweet white wine. A creamy apricot with a sweet finish. Great to drink very cold and with spicy food. If you're a beginner wine drinker, start here! Great proce and layers of tropical Starburst flavors! — 3 years ago
Black /red fruits, earth, cedar, charcoal, absolutely delicious. Firm grip on the finish. — 5 years ago
I was surprised how much life this has. Tasted like the Chinese haw flake candy which is supposedly made from hawthorn fruit. Well balanced and still had enough acidity. — 9 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed out of red Solo cups over the course of a few hours. The 1981 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears and significant sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes desiccated, as well as some ripe black and red fruits: mixed brambles, black cherry, tobacco, leather, dried flowers, earth and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. It’s always fun to open old bottles of classically made Zinfandel and this turned out to be a great bottle of the 1981 Esola Vineyard. If you have a bottle, and you’re reading this, find some friends and drink now. — a month ago
